Volunteer Work
Seahorse World has recently piloted a volunteer programme for those with a specific interest in aquaculture and the education of visitors to the centre through guided tours.

Volunteers are required to commit to a minimum of 1 day a week on a roster basis, after the initial training period of 5 consecutive days and are required to complete and sign off on the Seahorse World Pty Ltd procedures, policies and Code of Conduct.

In return for your help you will be gaining experience in a ‘World First’ multi-award winning boutique aquarium dedicated to the preservation and conservation of the seahorse in a friendly, safe and scenic environment.

Volunteers will also be provided with the following:

• Polo shirt - to be returned upon cessation of commitment.
• Traveling allowance of $20.00 per day worked - payable by cheque fortnightly.
• Mentor - if requested.
• Certificate of Participation - after a minimum of 30 days commitment.
• Reference - after a minimum 30 days continual commitment and satisfactory performance and work ethic review.
• Discount of 20% in our Café - for the duration of your time with us.
• Discount of 20% in our Gift Shop - for the duration of your time with us.

Every effort will be made for you to apply yourself in the area of your choice, however, ALL staff of Seahorse World are required to be multi-skilled and you will be directed to work in all areas of the business as required. It is not necessary to become a volunteer to apply for paid positions within the company should they arise, however preference will be given to those who have shown initiative.

*Becoming a volunteer does NOT mean you will be automatically be offered employment.

Occasionally positions do become vacant, however they are highly sought after. If you would like to be considered please forward your résumé to the General Manager. Positions include: Hospitality, Tour Guiding, Retail and Aquarium.

All staff are required to be multi-skilled and able to work in at least two areas of the attraction. Please Note: Résumés are only held for 3 months.
