The new Research Room is almost complete giving visitors a chance to see what happens behind the scenes and a glance at some of the rarer, harder to breed species. Also on display we have the deadly Blue Ringed Octopus-awareness of this very small but dangerous creature is very important especially in the rock ools of Northern Tasmania.

This room will also be available for small groups for specialised activities and we anticipate our new Seadragon tank will be installed by mid September with the spectacular Leafy Seadragon arriving late March.

The volunteer programme is well underway and has just a few spaces left in the calendar for anyone who might be interested - see our Employment page for further details.

Also for those of you who have visiting friends and relatives, don’t forget to ask for our VIP upgrade - for just an extra $5 on your ticket you receive unlimited access to Seahorse World for 12 months, discounts in the fantastic Gift Shop and also the waterfront café.

The Café will be closing for some much urgent maintenance for the months of July and August we will however be offering FREE self serve tea and coffee during this period.

Don’t forget our great Gift Shop for all sorts of amazing reasonably priced gifts for all ages. So take a leisurely drive down the Tamar and enjoy a Total Tasmanian Experience.
